The CR-V only has a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 pounds. Whereas the Escape can tow 3,500 pounds with the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine.

The Escape provides spacious and comfortable seating for five passengers. Cloth upholstery is standard, but leather is also available. Critics were impressed with the upscale interior. The cabin has excellent noise reduction and is adorned with quality, soft-touch materials.

The Escape has lower prices and more options, while the CR-V includes more standard equipment and no options.
